We saw two events while watching winter x games this year that sparked our interest.
The first one was on Thursday night. It's called Speed and Style and it is kind of a mix of
FMX style tricks on a snowmobile combined with a race. 2 people do 2 laps around the track.
There are two distinct lines around the track and they switch lines so they each do one lap of
each line, allot like the rally car events. The picture below is of the winner of the 2008 Speed and
Style, Levi LaVallee from Longville, Minn. The scores are based on a combination of tricks and time.
The second event we saw that we really liked is called "Snocross" and it's just like it sounds, it's basically motocross on a sled. They do heats of 8 laps and take the top two of each heat to compete in the finals. This year the finals were 25 laps while last year it was just 18. Tucker Hibbert from Centerville MS repeated his dominance and took gold again this year.
